Bright Side
Two days ago
Two days ago it had been six months ago
Two days ago you were just a cloud on a rainy day
Two days ago and from now on that's all you'll be to me
Six months from now you won't even be a cloud on a rainy day that you were
Two days ago
Two days ago I didn't even know it had been six months ago
Two days ago you faded like a cloud on a rainy day
Two days ago it had been three months and five days ago
Since the sun that made you fade has been by my side

Recently I was reminded how long it's been since I ended a manipulative relationship. Some days it feels like days or weeks other times it feels like years. It's been six months. I'm so glad that I got far away from that relationship as fast as I did. This poem is to the person who was by my side as I figured out how to be me again. They helped me survive the past year but especially the past six months. I hope one day I can find some way to pay them back for how many times they saved me.
