Walk My Own Path
I´m not you
I will never be like you
I don't want to be like you
I will walk how I walk
Talk like I talk
I will be who I am
And don't you treat me differently
I'm unique
I´m free
I'm not tearing myself apart in order to be perfect
I will not assign myself rules to be liked more
I will not tell myself what to do and to not do in order to be popular
Like many of you do
You destroy yourselves
You would do anything to be beautiful
You would do anything to be popular
You would starve yourselves to be thin
It's frightening really
What your willing to do in order to be popular
So let me be
Don't drag me down that path
Don't make me like you
If you hate me then hate me
I´m not following your rules
I'm not changing myself just because you don't like how I am
I like how I am
And that's enough for me
You can all walk down that path
And I will walk down the other one
And I will keep being me
Because I am happy with who I am
And I will walk down my own path

I have been bullied relentlessly for being different. For being "weird". It was hard to push through the bullying, but those experiences inspired me to write this poem. I hope that this poem inspires someone to be themselves no matter the cost. Be who you are, don't change yourself to be more like everyone else. You would just be giving in to the bullies.
