Imagine

Imagine a place so sweet and kind

Imagine where your neighbors and friends would all be fine

Imagine No one committed not one crime

But at the age of fifteen It began to decline

Imagine innocent lives being taken in handfuls at a time

Imagine no street nor ally not covered by a Russian police guy

Imagine your land being taken by soldiers from across the lines

Imagine

In 1941 these were the things that happened daily

Mother’s cry and watch Russians take away their baby’s

Kids so confused to why everyone was going all crazy

Imagine

Before all this they could play ball

Before all this they could all talk

Before all this they had a Voice

They had a Choice

Before all this they could sit all day and be lazy

Before all this they could be a Man or a Lady

Imagine

Imagine could we find a way to dissolve this mess we have made

Well just Maybe

If we help the Young

If we take away the Gun

And say that we are DONE

If we could have only stop it before it Begun

Before they made us carry a Ton

If only we could have Run

If we could have stop them and won

Imagine what it would be like in 1941

The author's comments:

It was inspired by a book called "Ashes in the Snow" AKA "Between Shades of Gray"/. We had to imagine what it would be like to be in shoes of 15 year old girl during 1941. It is inspired me to write this rhyming poem. This is my favorite piece so far.
