last dark

last rise

last yawn

i cling to you like

last night

under the bespeckled starscape of our

last supper.

gaze into our dorm and know that this is your

last glance

of my toothbrush on the floor,

last flick

of the bulb draining,

last blinding

carpeted hallways and feet pattering in

last echoes.

last memories.

trudge into the lobby with

last sighs,

shed

last tears

amidst faces you

last laughed

with in the FroYo ice cream parlor.

“last call!”

bags in hand, will you

last long

back where

last time

they bashed every poem to its

last breath?

but the car is already gliding and Troublemaker droning in that

last melody.

exhale now; for, at

last, the

moment has come where that

last song

is all you have left to

last on.
