Clockwork
Being with him is like lighting a calm fire on a summer night;
Control, calm, warm, strong.
But when he’s gone,
It's like a snake
Sliding up my legs, my arms, my head,
Slowly taking over day by day,
Until
I
Stop
Breathing.
And I shatter.
And the process begins again, like a clock hitting midnight.
Relentless but addicting,
and inescapable.
