True Beauty
When you look in the mirror, do you like what you see?
To those who say yes, jocund l’m sure you are
that spirit you should keep,
don’t let those negative feelings creep.
To those who say no,
doubtful melancholic faces are all I can see.
Trapped in a dungeon waiting to be set free,
plebs are all they think they can be.
feelings of worthlessness pervade their mind
they all don’t think they are one of a kind
no one knows I exist is all they can say
stuck in a trance, self-confidence they seek to enhance
itty bitty models they compare themselves to
posey, they become because they want to woo
unable to speak up thinking no one will clap
all I can hear are voices of rigid, poise, harlequin,
sassy, classy, fussy personalities just dying to come out.
You might think it's all flummery but no,
this is not buffoonery.
I am not flurried because I have been there
now gaze, confidence is what I wear
if I do say so myself
true beauty, more of inspiration, less focused on fashion trends
more of belief, less of comparison,
instead of comparing, just add flair
you’re all beautiful the way you are.
