An Unwanted Love
It’s pretty simple that I am hurt.
The ignorance you gave me and the love that was lacking.
You never appreciated the love I showed.
You never applauded me for my achievements,
I didn’t know what else to do; this is not right.
Why did I continue to fall to you?
I’m sadness, tears, and blues.
A child’s trust in her mother,
I put my tiny hand in yours.
Even though you never saw me as your daughter.
Where love and nurture should’ve been,
All I’ve known is a place full of lust and force.
You were never there for many of my firsts,
I needed you.
All of the time and money became focused on you,
I stole for you.
I lied for you.
I snuck around for you.
Just to become unwanted from you.
You are supposed to be my mother.
To teach me to love others, not despise them.
To comfort me when I have a low spirit.
To protect me from from verbal and physical abuse,
And to not cause me to suffer or live with fear.
I am your child,
Your unwanted love.
