Utopia
The idea of daydreams becoming reality,
seems so perfect
I am the Queen, with a king's ransom
Millions of servants and maids working for me,
magic and marvel and then I realise
I wished to live in my daydreams
Did that wish come true this Christmas?
I wander around my magical Queendom
Dressed in the finest purple silk
Maybe
Maybe I have some special power
something like magic,
because everyone kind of 'worshipped' me
With complete felicity
and butterflies in my stomach,
as if I'm about to find out if I can enter my dream college,
I read the sign
'Welcome to Utopia'
I scream, I laugh, I jump, I dance, I cry
All at the same time
"This is going to be the best day ever,"
I think as I discover all the magic within
Am I really in Utopia, the land of perfection?
I think. And suddenly, I see specks of dust.
My past comes back for me,
the times when I was genuinely myself
surround me and I get trapped
trapped with myself, my past
my actual life, my true feelings,
my beautiful thoughts and emotions
Am I really in Utopia, the land of perfection?
Yes, I am in Utopia.
I am nowhere.
I am trapped in the middle of nowhere.
