Our soul splatters on the pavement.
The bottle - sleek and pristine
yet laced with lies,
smuggled from father’s cabinet -
twirls in your grip.
Confidently,
stabbing with my keychain
you twist the cork
to shreds:
disintegrated.
Still plugged, you shook
instigating
and further fermenting
until bubbling with fury
or maybe despair
or possibly a mere impatience.
In you hands
splayed the shards,
the red dripping from your fingertips
as if, with a final scream
our breath drained away
while I merely watched.
