Were I to fall in love, indeed, it would be a different thing! but I have never been in love; it is not my way, or my nature; and I do not think I ever shall.
—Jane Austen, Emma

The somber of mourn to follow.
The death and decease of marrow,
of grief and of sorrow.
Let life feel empty and hollow.
Sing a song to wallow,
under foot of boots and tears are
Handkerchiefs with embroidered fears
Let hope cry of scorn and rage
Let love fall upon its own two edged blade
Let grace be trapped in its cage
Let the poor soul find its aid
give unto it the peace we cannot masquerade
