what was told to the woman at the crossroads
welcome to the crossroads, dearest
the place dreams are realized and shot forth
like fireblasts
to heaven
the place where dreams are pushed down
and ignored, shoved to the depths of the soul
never to resurface
choose a path, dearest
choose for the choice is yours
you stand, strong and independent
but what will you rely on when your strength is gone?
what will you have to show for your years of unwavering living?
you played the game, but will you have won?
living in itself. that is the supreme challenge
you do it subconsciously
and yet, you may have nothing to show for it
you fade
pastor
whispering a eulogy
over black-clothed teardrops
circling your grave
quiet, hushed as coffin hits dirt bottom
and you are gone from this earth
meaningless, meaningless
your life meaningless
the million drops of sand in an hourglass
and the drip, drip is neverending
shh, dearest
shh...stop breathing for a moment and open your ears, you will only hear this once
the time is yours, the power in your hands
take a step down either path
choose, and choose wisely
choose the impact you will make, the lives you will touch
or choose to be forgotten

I want my life to have meaning. I want to leave this earth and know that I did something for God.
