it's okay if you get a breath of fresh air now and again
take a moment, if you will
and disconnect your mind from false urgency.
if your phone buzzes in your back pocket, let it be;
let it buzz.
you don't try to stop the bees from buzzing.
you don't even care if they do.
but maybe you should.
your phone will always be in your back pocket
but you won't always have this golden afternoon
and to think, you could be wasting it curled up in your bed
watching tiktok and guzzling starbucks
you are wise to be out here
let wind wash your face
let sunlight illuminate your hair
and burn the tips of feathery lashes
let the pure scent of daffodils fill your nostrils
and take you back
to your grandmother's garden when you were six
her smile as she tugged on gloves and showed you how to pull weeds
and only pick the right blossoms

This piece rings painfully true for me - I need to spend more time outside in nature!
