Destroy That Voice
Bullies will hurt you, and they will put you down. Bullies will laugh at you, and make you feel like a clown.
But sometimes the bully can be you. That's right, you can bully yourself too.
You'll dig and dig yourself, more and more. So much, that you'll begin to feel sore.
Whether you dig on the inside, or the out. You'll still feel sore without a doubt.
No matter what people tell you about yourself. Your personality will begin to melt.
You'll become a stranger, even to yourself. The real you will scream and scream, but just not loud enough to call for help.
On the inside you'll begin to cry. Watching the real you slowly beginning to die.
You'll look in the mirror every single day. Wondering what the voice in your head will say.
The voice constantly tells you that you're a slob. But soon that voice will become a mob.
Screaming at every part of your head. Always reminding you that real you is dead.
You want to love yourself, you really do. But the voice in your head will never let you.
The real you will hide deep, deep down. Always hiding from that voice making you a clown.
But one day, the real you will finally become strong. Strong enough to prove that voice wrong.
The real you will fight and fight. Proving to you that the people were right.
People always say that they love you. Once that voice is fully gone, you'll begin loving yourself too.

I wrote this poem to show others what goes on inside most teenage brains. Self- love and self-esteem are big issues with most teenagers, and even some adults. Most of us have this voice inside our heads telling us that we're too fat, ugly, or too skinny. In reality we're all beautiful and just need to fight that voice.
