do you know where you're going when you die?
it is coming
it may be found in the blinding headlights of an oncoming car
or flames that lick your body
or a shaky breath on a hospital bed
that last moment is coming
the moment when death holds out her arms and smiles
and you pause, poised before the leap
but you will leap.
you will because you have no choice
when death holds out her arms, you must leap.
and yet,
some leap fearlessly
some leap and laugh, because they know where they are leaping to
they are not leaping into an abyss of death and night and cold
they are leaping into home
the home God has created for His followers
and death is no longer a nightmare, she is a friend
