the balance to the madness
we grew up sisters
we fought like sisters anyways
but i still remember the summer day, i was eleven and you were nine
when your mom sat on a yoga mat and explained to me that you were moving away
and i laughed and tried to believe it
but why would she lie?
i wish she was lying
now, i wait every day until 3 pm
because that's 6 am your time
for you to text me. no one else i know has to do this.
most best friends live in the same time zone.
by the way, i am going to see you for four weeks this year,
and i'm over the moon.
four weeks, barely a month
i love you, bestie.
