Sandcastle
Every grain of sand means something
And so I build a sandcastle
Of things that are important to me
Every pillar, window, and wall
Holds something important inside it
The sound of seagulls hovering above me
The sound of the calming ocean
The crunching of sand
All help me relax
To build my sandcastle
But the ocean is not a nice person
For I built my sandcastle too close
All my mistakes the ocean knows
Ruin all the important things I used to build
My sandcastle
It’s gone.
The sandcastle I worked so hard to build
Is now a pile of mush
That I must build up again
Only to be ruined once again.
Every grain of sand means something important.
