Golden Hour
It’s late in the afternoon, every window is open
It’s a warm summer day with a breeze
A soft glow gleams within
It shall never, ever cease.
The time is perfect now-things still like statues
Just like a painting or a photograph
In the sun, your eyes are light blue
I think of this time, and begin to softly laugh.
Everything is golden, everything shines
The shades begin to reflect
It’s only us; you and I
I wish I could slow the time, things would be perfect.
The sky is filled with colors, vividly painted
The sun rays look like glitter has fallen
Some music plays; sounds were acquainted
Moments like these aren’t so common.
Time seems to slow down
And the golden rays just stay
I hear a lovely tune that fills all around
It’s a picture perfect for display.
It’s better than the morning dew
The whispers of the wind whistles’ that go by
Better than the flowers outside in every hue
saying “I love you” the words that can’t ever die.
The hour of everything bright
The hour of all things divine
Gold peaking through the blinds, a room full of light
Aging like a fine wine.
Nostalgia finds its way in my heart
It’s quite beauteous and like a dream
Something I’ve seen before in great works of art
Like the warmth of a sun beam.
Sweeter than the taste of honey from the comb
Like the first sip of icy lemonade
I feel that I’m back home
In this hour, nothing has to age.
Similar like the rays to saturn
The glowing amber in the sun
Like lace; every stitch and pattern
Golden like a trophy to be won
Prettier than the golden daffodils or any golden flower
It’s like a spot light, something to endeavor
It’s the golden hour
Let’s enjoy this moment together.

Ie always loved writing poems even when I was younger and just in my 8th grade year, I began to write songs. I began to write my own music and listen to other Artist that struck my interest. This poem is entitled ¨Golden Hour¨ and I was inspired by two amazing songs: ¨Golden Hour" JVKE and ¨Photograph¨ By Cody Fry. A golden hour is when the sun is just soon getting ready to set or rise early morning. It makes all things seem that they are painted with gold and everything seems even prettier during this time. Lots of memories I share with friends, family, and my partner during this golden hour.
