Roses
Roses are so beautiful
With red and white petals
But they also hurt
With those prickly thorns on the sage green vines
Roses come in bundles or alone
You always want roses and never care about their thorns
You grab one and it pricks you
But you keep going after them knowing each time it will hurt
What is it about roses?
You can’t pull away from their beauty
Their sweet yet so painful beauty
You never care how much it hurts
You get bundles and bunches
But once the flowers droop because you no longer care
Because they lose that red and it goes to black
And the white goes to brown
Those sage green vines stiffen as well as its thorns
You want to discard of them but they hurt you even more
They become angry but they don’t want you either
They never did
Roses
Of red and white
Roses
Of sage green vines and thorns
They hurt
But their beauty is irresistible
You never learn how painful they truly are
Until your mouth fills with flowers
And your wrist wrapped in the vines
And thorns tighten around your throat
But yet you
still find them beautiful
Roses
