The End
Orange, yellow, and red.
Warmth that engulfed it wholly.
The fumes covering
Every
Inch
Of this house,
And our story with it.
Phantom sounds of footsteps in the hallways.
Down the stairs of the house we made our own.
Laughter echoes off the walls as it comes down.
I’m leaving, your voice playing
Over
And over
In my head.
The urge to beg you circling my mind.
To fall to my knees and plead.
Plead for one more chance to make it right.
One more chance to make you smile,
To make you laugh,
To love you.
But I settled for, Okay.
