What was Once Mine
I almost wish
I’d never met you.
You’ve ruined me,
Inside and out,
And,
I wouldn’t have it
Any other way.
My heart and soul
Belong to you.
The loveliest soul
I've ever known.
And maybe,
In another life,
We were meant to be.
Meant to follow each other
To the ends of the earth.
Meant to be best part
Of each other's day.
But now you’ve left me
Stranded in a place
I no longer recognize.
But,
As I stand here,
I’d still cherish
The moments and memories
Of once being able
To call you
Mine.
