The Man
The man in charge
Stops for no one.
Never has
And never will.
Not even before the
Go Ahead.
Not even after the
Stop.
Not while
The gun is in his hand.
Not while
The law is on his side.
Even when they take
A life.
Or multiple lives.
Or a piece of
Your Life.
A piece of you.
We shouldn’t be
Surprised, not really.
That the law
Never. Changed.
Except for when
They need a leash
On us women,
Of course.
They gave us one
Great thing,
The right to our bodies,
Just to take it back
To cage it away
And dangle it in
Our faces.
For. Ever.
When they take
And take
From us.
When they leave us
To Deal
With the aftermath.
Alone.
Without repercussions.
Just because
He couldn’t.
Keep it.
In his pants.
Don't Worry.
You can change what your baby
Will look like,
So you aren't reminded of
That man.
The man
That took from you.
Getting rid of his
Hair and eye color
Should help,
Shouldn't it?
