Contentment and Stability
I dream about sharing a home
With someone one day.
Maybe not the whole
‘Kids and white picket fence,
A dog or two’ dream,
But one where I'm content
With just myself and them.
I dream about a house
In the countryside,
With empty fields
And endless skies.
With flowers
In every room
And a breeze coming through
Open doors and windows.
I dream of nights in front of the fire,
Under a blanket
With shared smiles.
Or of waking up midday
To the sounds of rain
Hitting my window
And meaningless conversations
About everything and nothing.
Or late night car rides
With the music playing low
In the background.
Or nights hidden in bed
With the moonlight
Peaking through the curtains.
Just to do it all over again
Tomorrow.
