Rhythm of Nature
The oak leaves slump as my mind hushes,
deep into the woodlands I find my peace.
As I rustle to the core of this sanctuary
I see her beauty all around me.
The orange whirring as a robin passes me overhead.
His chirp calls me deeper into the timberland.
I feel safe here, I’m protected by the mighty pines that shelter me.
I am alone here,
yet I’m completely surrounded.
I pass by a creek that follows me to a pond.
The pond calls me to stillness.
The small bass swim carelessly through the reeds.
I could touch a hundred lily pads.
And not pick one.
Nature in its truest form.
The frogs croaks awaken me from my engrossment from this pond.
Her song soothes me. I feel at ease here
I find a ridged bark to sit back on and just watch.
The robins in the air, the bass in the water, the frogs croaking their sweet song.
My eyelids slowly begin to feel heavy
as I slowly start to fade out …
