Highschool=Unknown
High School
started as a tiny freshman,
unprepared for what was to come.
But as freshman year went on I started
stepping into the small stone building
with a sense of accomplishment.
My grades were great, I went to class,
and the nerves went away.
But like all things good,
it did not last.
The small stone school turned into a
place of confinement.
The once refreshing feel
is now as dry as
an Arizona summer day.
No longer knowing what to expect
because the ponderous security guard,
who tries to be as rough as sandpaper,
is always trying to catch me
in the ‘act’.
Ready to give me a ticket
and then another
and another…
until this place of confinement
is just a bitter-sweet
memory.
God
I hate high school
