You with Me
I’ve avoided the water
Since the day it
Took you from me.
I should hate it,
I should.
But how could I hate
The last thing
To have your warmth
In its arms.
Instead,
I find myself
Longing to be right back
On the shore,
With the warm sand
Under me.
Just to tell you how I've been.
Just to be with you again.
I see you in the sky sometimes,
When it’s a pretty pink
And air’s warm.
I think of you on the sixth,
And on the twelfth,
And all the time.
