The Car Race
“ ON YOUR MARK, GET SET. GO!!!! ”
The cars blasted their engines forward.
Gray smoke flew through the air.
Red, blue, green, yellow, purple, pink,
and orange colored cars zoom past by.
People cheer and scream.
“ Yellow is in the LEAD!!! ”
Loud revving from cars made it hard to hear.
They spun in circles repeatedly that made
my head hurt.
It was only my first ticket to watch a
real race.
Some people thought that
the car crashes were the best part
since they caused everyone to stay
out of the league.
But mostly I thought that it was
mainly for betting.
I was wondering how the speed
was controlled.
Was it technique?
Whatever it was, it was fun to watch.
Until…
“IT LOOKS LIKE GREEN IS LOSING CONTROL”
People saw it stroke left to right.
They were getting closer and
closer to the curve.
“WILL IT AVOID THE CURVE AND STAY IN SECOND?”
It didn’t look like he would be able
to avoid so he took the risk.
It hit the curb making it flip high
enough for it to make it over the
6 foot fence.
The accident looked like a cow jumping
over the moon.
But a six foot fence.
“AND IT LOOKS LIKE GREEN IS IN LAST PLACE.”
Two men came running over to
jump that fence.
The driver seemed fine but the
car looked like it would flip
over once more.
Paramedics came over right where people
gathered to see the commotion.
From a little peak from the accident
it looked like a nightmare.
But no one seemed to care, so I guess it
was fine.
As the cars drive by, the little designs
and sponsors caught my eye.
The designs, different car brands, and
colors were AMAZING.
I loved the different car brands such as
Lamborghini's, Fords, Porches, vintage cars,
exotic patterns, numbers.
All of a sudden the cars come to a stop
while a bunch of people ran so fast
to change the tires.
The four people that changed the
tires, wore the same color jumpsuits
as the car.
It was pretty funny at first, but it was
Really nice they had their own
designated color for their station.
I’ve somewhat noticed that
there were very few of women
behind the wheel during the races.
Until I noticed that the guy that was flipped
over was eliminated.
Tons and tons of people cheered and dressed
according to color.
“WHO WILL WIN?”
The cars kept going and going.
Loud and LOUD noises
came and went.
Heads followed the cars switch places.
As the cars kept going and going,
two people set up the
long white rope for people who placed.
They set up checkered flags
like a chess board.
People cheered and roared.
They threw their food in the
air and motioned for the car to go faster.
The two rows of cars turned into one
long row of patterned cars.
“ONE MORE LAP.”
They all soon went faster.
Everyone stood silent until
at least a car could pass the
bright white line.
Everything became slow motion.
The announcer on the microphone
stared with blank eyes.
A car soon finally passed.
The fan jumped up and down out
of excitement.
Loud screams and yells echoed
around the arena.
The driver. The girl.
Got out of the car with
confetti flying around her.
A bouquet of flowers were
handed to her along with a golden
cup.
