Moving Forward
Time the only constant thing in my life
Always progressing, never regressing
Moving forward with rapid succession, the gears of my eternal the clock turning
Days and nights pass on to weeks,
Experiences pass by like traffic on a busy freeway
Deep into darkness of the night I am left to my thoughts
Thoughts of time, the tormentor of my dreams
As I wept, slowly time crept
And as I wiped the tears, I realize my biggest fears
The fear to skate through under the radar
Yearning to stick out like a healthy single Basswood tree in a dead field of wheat, shading the patrons below
Providing for the world that has provided me for so long
Doing everything I can to slow down and rejoice the precious moments of immaturity
Once reality makes its way in, the child in me will cease to be seen again
Contributing to a greater cause to distract myself from the hands all around me
As time ticks, my infinite war begins to click
A never ending battle with myself to accomplish the goals I set
Before I leave this world just as soon as I stepped foot on it

I am a high school senior planning to go to college next year to study wildlife biology, I enjoy incorporating my two passions of fine literature and wildlife when crafting my pieces.
