Overthinking
A storm roars in my head.
A hurricane of thoughts that I can't unwind,
Each one a worry, a doubt, a fear that swirls and spins, the horizon never quite clear.
I analyze every word, every deed, constantly wondering what others might think or need.
I second guess myself, and question myself worth
As if my value was tied to my thoughts since birth.
I dwell on the past and worry about the future,
As if I could control it
I play out scenarios, and imagine the worse.
As if somehow I could predict it and rehearse.
