Prosopagnosia
I seem to know you
That voice, that heart
I know it is you when you laugh
But do I really know you?
I realize I can’t recognize your face
I see you
But I don’t really see you
I know you have your own nose, eyes, and cheeks
Yet you have the same face as everyone
I can be in a room full of everyone I know
Yet you all are strangers when I walk in

This is a poem that was inspired by a image my creative writing teacher provided me. It was an image of people with no faces, and this reminded me of my psychology class where we learned about prosopagnosia. This is where an individual can't recognize and differentiate between peoples' faces.
