How I Love
What happens now that I’ve found someone so much like me
I wasted years and years on nobody
Yet unknowingly I had you waiting around the riverbend
How do I make sure to love you as much as I wish to love?
When words fail me and actions are all I have,
How can I let you know when you make my heart soar
and whisper a simple “I like you?”
When words fail me and actions are all I have,
How can I express that now the world seems to have a place for me
and whisper a simple “I thank you?”
When words fail me and actions are all I have,
How can I let you know when I’m feeling low
and whisper a simple “I miss you?”
When words fail me and actions are all I have,
I must hope that my simple embrace will convey enough for you to know
The extent to which the heart in this poem belongs to you
