Summers wind took my breath away

laid a story, of that friend

I watched pass that day

A fire began to glow in my heart

that I had felt on the warm, windy day

left me sleeping so that I could wake up

the very next day

And just like any other,

Soon you walked away.

My eyes could never be as dry

as they were before that very day.

The days that filled my life with bliss

now rolling in corners of the floor as I reminisce,

The feeling in my chest I would never forget

reminded me of my lost friend.

Summer’s wind brought fall's leaves.

Time passed, yet there I stood in grief.

Ignoring all the good things that stay,

pleading for you to come my way

The crushed leaves crunching underneath my soul

soon brought the snow making me feel a glimpse of hope

Snow-white lies written underneath its layers

As I jumped right in, without giving a care.

Alas, the cold’s painting did not last for long

and I fell back to the same place I was before

Wishing for you to be here with me.

Wishing for the flower that sparked right next to me

Muffled gusts from the clouds

soon gushed with pouring rain.

Spring’s promise arrived

and my unabating hope remained.

That you will appear at my doorstep again one very day

But the wait turned into months

and months turned into years.

Alas, I was once again met with summer’s gray

Devastated and lost, faced with solitude and a mind that was crossed

Infuriated and sad, wanting this all to end.

but time waited for no one, and once again it was fall

Every time each frail leaf fell, I still recalled it all.

Winter passed once again

Spring’s return with its promise

just

Very then

You, the one that changed me

Suddenly appeared

I recognized your distinct voice

startled, I turned around to see you there

The fire in my heart

that flickered the time we were apart

it's blazing louder and won’t disappear

Is it because you’re so near?

I ran toward you, my monotone world now in technicolor

The color that ignited through me the day we met

The friend that made me different on that fateful day

has returned, and never left.
