CRY
My eyes have been leaking from the moment I took my first breath
I have never been able to contain my sadnesses within me
It boils over to spring out of me
Gray clouds permanently tattooed beneath my eyes
I stand on top of the mountain as my tears carve gorges through the rocks
My body has been covered with a thick crust of salt
It creates an impenetrable armor
They provide water for the fish to multiply in and flowers that bloom downstream
Children play in the bank and lovers dip their feet into the water
No one seems to remember the sadness I endured to bore new life
“Cry me a river” he jokes
I already did
