Pasifika
Our beautiful Pacific Islands
Being consumed by the ocean
Our Culture
Being lost to time
Our Heritage
Facing erasure
They forget its our month too
We have to show them
That we’re still here
We have to spread the word
That we are not invisible
We exist
Even if other communities
Overshadow us
By population or influence
Even if the ones who speak for us
Say no ones going to remember two extra letters
We will show them
By telling our stories
Like how we got here
How our ancestors lived
And most importantly
Stories of our Pasifika
Brothers and sisters
Spread the love.

What im trying to say in this poem is no matter what challenges face us as a community, we as Pacific Islanders have to remember to spread the culture and the love.
