Don't You Remember
Don’t you remember
That I’m your baby doll?
The peanuts that we shared?
The corn we grew in the backyard?
Rain Makes Corn by Luke Bryan?
Big Green Tractor by Jason Aldean?
Our songs, the ones we listened to on repeat?
I guess those little things never meant
As much to you as they did me.
I guess you don’t cry when
You hear the songs we had on repeat.
When you hear someone say ‘Baby Doll’.
When you eat peanuts you probably
Don’t think of all our memories.
How could you push me, your own
Daughter out of your world.
Lie to your own flesh and blood.
How could you hug me and say
"I promise I’ll stop drinking"
Then go to the garage with your friends.
Drink a whole box of bud light
Before noon and expect me to say
I love you back.
Don’t you remember that?
