Quicksand Of Life
Please,
My friend,
Throw me a rope.
I stand here on the brink of an endless descent,
My balance was lost and my fate was uncertain.
The quicksand below me is a slurry of mud and deception,
Adorned with leaves and glittering treasures that only serve to lure me deeper into its grasp.
As I sink faster,
I gasp for air,
Struggling to stay afloat in this accursed mire.
The waves of grains around me grow,
Clutching tight to every move I make.
I cry out for help,
But none can be found.
The decay of the murky ground surrounds me,
And I grasp at clumps,
Trying desperately to stay alive.
The sun shines down on me,
But my struggles grow faint.
No one hears my dying churn and plaint,
And my hope of escape fades ever so quickly.
The darkness grips me on this vile journey,
And my tragic fate is sealed.
No one knew I walked these sullen sands of demise,
And now I lay still with half-open eyes,
Taken by this treacherous land,
Untamed.
Trapped in a pool of quicksand,
I will never feel the vibrant joy of life again.
But you,
My friend,
Can save me.
Throw me a rope and pull me from this abyss.
Let me live to see another day,
To feel the sun on my face and the wind in my hair.
Don't let me be another victim of this unforgiving landscape.
Help me,
And I will be forever grateful.
