Roots
Drifting, a seed on the wind.
Escaped from the garden, from its tether
Broken and unsure, young
Landing on the ground, sinking
Taking root.
Plucked and trying to return,
Scared of new soil, I tried to return,
But the garden didn’t want me.
Falling, back to earth, back to the soil.
Rain pounds the dirt, bringing new growth,
Taking root.
Reaching upwards, grasping at the sky.
Spring air clears my mind, blooming
Flowers surround me, a meadow of beauty.
Healed once again, opening my heart,
Joining the blooms for a change.
Pollinators bring us together.
Taking root.
A rose grows near me, beautiful and serene.
She reaches to me, asking for my hand.
Obliging, I reach for her.
Flowers fill my vision, red blooms.
Roses take root.
