I Am In Love

i have been in love three times in my short life.
the first with a mirror image of myself, a beautiful girl built from the same broken bits of glass as i, a perfect love, until we faded out in a cataclysmic array of color.
the second with a monster, dark and treacherous, who turned my mosaic heart against me, shattering it through and leaving me in the dust on a hot august night. .
and now, i fear i may be in love with a fairy, and it’s all i can do but to hope her wings don’t carry her away from me too.
