you.
you.
i see my reflection in you
i couldn’t know what is worse
and i don’t know what to do
who do you see? is it really you within me?
why do you do what you do?
do you think it’s fair to be, who you’re being?
they care and they care
they slave away to see you wither in the end
despite hours after hours of pained choices
the decisions leading to an inevitable goodbye
one way or another
we’ll see you leave
nothing left for each other
you see nothing but yourself, i was never even there in your eyes
you.
once filled with life
i wish i could see you thrive but you throw down your torch
you’re convince that you’ve died
and i’m sick
of all you’ve done, all you do, to see it burn before you.
and that’s all that left.
all that’s left is.
you.
there’s a word for that somewhere.
you’ll find it when you’re no longer lost.
i know you’ll regret the harm, the scars, the burns you’ll leave behind.
but when you find your peace of mind you set aside your pride and realize
it’s not just you.
we’re all here, too.
avoiding the fire and the floods and the storm above.
surviving and thriving- away from the fire you’ve started and the disconnect you’ve caused.
you.
why? i thought you could thrive. pick up a new torch and find a new way to survive. but your stubborn sadness and your unwillingness to be alive… it tortures us to see this in you, the anguish. within you.
you.
