Hidden and neglected.
It infects ordinary people,
Leeching off their happiness.
Throwing its victims into misery,
Poverty wickedly laughs.
Pillaging their hope,
Poverty thrives.
Poverty sees no race,
Poverty sees no creed,
Poverty sees no gender,
Poverty sees no bounds.
Poverty is an evil,
Preventable with a cure.
It is time we care.
It is time we prepare.
