Dear Future Ela,

 


Scars are fading,

But remind yourself.

You are not a slave to your thoughts any longer.

 


A changed last name where did my identity go?

You’ll find joy in the simplest of things; no need to try.

You’ll make eye contact with strangers.

You still cry.

You’ll be one of those world changers.

 


Your heart remains inside your chest,

Thinking of your future every day.

You’ll work so hard and never rest.

I know it will happen - good things take time.

 


So we think and know,

Maybe it will be okay.

After all,

Your success in life is not too faraway.
