As you stand,

On a tall pedestal from birth,

I glorify your walk,

I validate your worth.

A voice commanding as winter,

Bitterly biting through the air,

A scepter laid in hand,

Born an irreplaceable, reckless heir.

Such confidence in your stance,

A predator among miles of prey,

A strong, superficial mask,

Slowly, I’ll replicate you one day.

And I’ll play the part so well,

An actor on the big stage,

With every observation your delicate motions,

A silent war will wage.

I’ll fit right in your shoes,

And dress in your Italian suits,

I’ll mimic your deep laugh,

I’ll mimic your cut-throat ways.

I’ll mimic your crooked, coy smile.

I’ll mimic and earn their praise.
