Alone in the Silence

Looking out of the old, paint chipped window.

I am cold, alone, terrified of the world around me.

All I see are dark, black shadows flying up in the air,

circling the window that I am trapped in.

Matte black crows fill the sky

as reflected onto the cracked glass

All alone in the old house with no one in sight.

The world is still, no noise, no movement

other than those loud squeaking black crows surrounding me.

I see a hummingbird, mumbling through the sky.

One by one all the black birds attack the noise.

I sit silently all alone in the aged window,

watching the birds destroy the sound.
