To step up and be the mother that every child needs 

A mom who is willing to put everything aside

To put a smile on you face every day 

I want to be the person you come to when you need someone

To make sure you never feel alone in this world 

Not only to do my job as a mother but also a close friend

The person you can trust more than anyone 

Make memories you’ll never forget 

To watch each other grow physically and mentally 

I’ll do my best to protect you from the outside world

Until it’s time for you to go off on your own 

I want you to feel comfortable with the people I bring before you 

To communicate with me on whatever you’re feeling or going through

For you to have a dad who chooses you first 

For me and your father to put our problems aside for you

Be there for your first words and steps 

To watch you go off to preschool and elementary school

See you graduate from high school and college 

And support you with your plans for your future 

I want to teach my daughter to be kind to people 

Yet not let others take advantage of her 

To prepare her for the outside world 

Until it’s time for her to go off on her own.
