It’s an ordinary house. The special thing about it is you.

a pocket watch stuck at 6 o’clock

i could pay to have it fixed

twenty dollars and it’s in the present

but isn’t it something to leave it how it is?

a physical object belonging to the past

stuck in a moment of its own time

held in my hand and carried with me through mine

is it like time travel?

something existing when it doesn’t belong

or is it just an old clock

dragged along with me long past its own days?

is it a sign to let go?

The author's comments:

I found a pocket watch necklace at a store that reminded me of someone I care about. I bought it for them and I noticed the clock doesn’t work anymore, it’s stuck just past 6 o’clock. I don’t think I’ll have it fixed.
