the clouds are crying

calm before storm

in the sunlit pool

of azure ambrosia

is soft held breath

ripples span but silence

like sterling knife to

veined throat and white

bunched mist floats

one cirrus whisper breaks

the surface tension in

wispy tendrils of Stygian

shadow

and unfurling ink drips

coruscating droplets

down the stairways of

heaven

to drop single reflective

pebbles of earthen

melancholy on gnarled bark

and soft stalk

and exsiccate each hazy

cast eye of vapor and

dust until the dappled

noise quiets

to catch gently

into soft held breath

in the sunlit pool

of azure ambrosia
