the u’tlun’ta, or spearfinger
the u’tlun’ta is a diabolical dame.
never walk whiteside, a thunder mountain, alone,
because then you’ll see the lady made of stone.
she is a revolting sight!
her mouth is stained with the blood of livers she consumes!
a spear shapes her right forefinger,
which she’ll cut you with if you dare to intrude!
she sings a song with her raven friend,
“uwe la na tsiku. su sa sai.
liver, i eat it. su sa sai.
uwe la na tsiku. su sa sai.”
and even though she has died,
she still lives, reincarnated –
so watch out, traveler,
because the diabolical dame knows how to deceive,
and if you’re one who has no mind,
your liver will be the next one she eats!
