Tiny Yet Fiery

Wild instincts,

release musk,

It hisses with its nose.

Sniffing prairie dogs out.

Face full of teeth,

sharp claws,

ferocious it is.

Fearless at night,

With its nocturnal eyes.

Breaks all soil in it’s sight,

Adaptable,

And scrappy.

A meter long,

fifteen kilos heavy,

The badger strikes.

The author's comments:

I created this piece because I have recently found an interest in honey badgers and I wanted to research more about them. When I was deciding what to write about for this piece, I know that I wanted to write about animals, ( specifically those of Africa). After my studies of animals native to Africa, the honey badger was my favorite. Leading me to dive deeper in research about honey badgers.
