Are We Done?

The trees are bleeding

And so is the land,

The days not far,

When in despair we stand.

Are we done?

The air is polluted,

It’s getting impure,

The people can’t stand it,

Will suffer for sure.

Are we done?

The factories dumping poison,

Marine life can’t live.

The coral is cut

Their habitats being seized,

For this is inhumane,

Can we end this?

Are we done?

The axes ruining forests,

The rangers killing beasts

Ivory for your decor

and leather for your needs.

Repentess as you are

Do you know where this leads?

Are we done?

Let’s sit back and think,

About the whys and hows

The damage we have caused

We have to fix it now.

The birds still chirp

The flowers still bloom

The world still works

How about you?

This piece speaks to how much nature has been negatively affected by human activities, whether it is the oceans, the air, or animals. Hopefully, it raises awareness and helps humans want to reverse their harmful actions towards our beautiful Earth.

As someone who enjoys the outdoors this poem really stick with me as I have seen our own nature he destroyed by humans and it hurts my heart to see other humans destroy the world we live in. Great job please write more about the nature and be an activist through your works.
