Blue everywhere, waves as far as I can see

I wade in–cold splash

Feel the wet sand squish between my toes

The smell of sunscreen radiating from my skin

The constant rhythm of the waves splashing around me

Overpowering the murmurs of people conversing from behind

Water up to my neck, the current tugs against me

The frothing waves wash over me without warning

Water forces its way into my mouth

Too much salt, yuck

The sour water stings my tongue

The sound of the waves breaking all around me

The smell of the salty mist floating my way

The ocean is like nothing else

I am Laney and I wrote this imagery poem because I like the ocean.
