The First time Ice Skating At The Mall

I remember the first time when

I stepped out of my car.

Looking at the big building.

I was 8-9 years old, with a shiver and excitement going down my spine.

It was starting to rain on a cold winter day.

Frosty snow sucking down my feet,

I barely made my way inside the mall,

Looking like a wet soaking dog.

The moment I stepped in I could see people shopping,

the smell of fresh,

elegant buttery popcorn,

floating in the air,

the cold brew coffee calling my name.

The sound of thunder,

but it was just children's laughter.

The tall ceilings,

taller than the high mountain peaks,

with the elevators going up and down.

I felt glued to the ground,

while waiting in line for my ticket.

Then, there it was in the middle of the mall,

tall and shiny,

glowing brighter than the sun.

It was a Christmas tree,

standing on the ice.

Still nervous I eased my way to the  ice,

Feeling like I've been shot into a million of pieces,

I gulped.

Holding onto the shiny handles,

That had a reflection of me.

Still standing,

staring at the ice and the ice staring back at me.

I took a deep breath in.

I Started to move,

first slower than a slog,

Then faster than ever with the cold breezy air blowing at me,

pushing me like a heavy wave making me move faster.

I closed my eyes listening to the floating music with the sound,

louder than a waterfall,

I couldn't believe it.

I was ice skating for the first time.

This Poem is a memory of mine, when i was about 8-9 years old. It says how I felt and all the things I experienced while being in the mall. The meaning of this poem is that you can do anything you put your mind to, because why not take risks if you know you'll never be able to try It again. And i'm happy that I went ice skating because its something that I like to do now, and its something that I enjoy doing. I'm here to say that you can do anything if you try.
